- •Over its decade-long run, the Winged Eagle was held by some of wrestling's greatest legends, including Hulk Hogan, 'Macho Man' Randy Savage, The Ultimate Warrior, Bret 'Hit Man' Hart, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, and 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin.
- •The design's nickname comes from the eagle's wings appearing to extend dramatically off the gold-plated center plate, which read 'World Heavyweight Wrestling Champion' above the block WWF logo.
- •'Stone Cold' Steve Austin was the final champion to hold the Winged Eagle, winning it at WrestleMania XIV in 1998 before it was retired and replaced by the 'Big Eagle' (Attitude Era) design.
