The World Heavyweight Championship, known colloquially as the "Big Gold Belt," is one of professional wrestling's most storied titles, with a physical belt commissioned by Jim Crockett Promotions in 1985 and crafted by Reno, Nevada silversmith Charles Crumrine; it debuted on February 14, 1986, at Battle of the Belts II, where NWA Champion Ric Flair defended against Barry Windham, and went on to represent the NWA, WCW, and ultimately WWE world championships across nearly three decades.
